"Protecting Children from Sexually Exploitive and Abusive Practices"

Our introductory workshop on child sexual abuse prevention. It covers a wide
range of topics, and is appropriate for a wide range of audiences, including early
childhood educators, child care providers, parents , teachers, health care providers,
DCF staff, etc. This is an engaging, discussion-based and interactive 2 hour
training. Topics include: normal sexual development in children; types of child sexual
abuse;  the range of sexual behaviors from normal to very concerning; statistics;
facts and myths about abuse;  signs of sexual abuse; answering children’s
questions;  responding to sexual behavior in children; offender behaviors, etc. A
book list for children and parents, resource list, and information on mandated
reporting is also provided.

Completion of this training counts towards Child Development Associate (CDA), Advanced
Protective Service, or re-licensing hours in Vermont.
