Melissa Culver, Clinician

Melissa Hunt-Culver holds a M.A. in Counseling Psychology from
Antioch University New England.  She is a Licensed Drug and
Alcohol Counselor, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and
a Level -1 Life Force Yoga Practitioner.  Melissa is an integrative
therapist, drawing on clinical theories like Cognitive Behavioral,
Systems Based Solution Oriented Theories and Mindfulness Based
Therapies.  A new area of clinical focus is in mind / body
therapies.  Melissa is pursuing additional training in Life Force
Yoga to assist clients with managing anxiety and depression
through simple movement, sound and breathing techniques.

Melissa works with youth, adults and families on issues related to
mental health and substance abuse.  She is an advocate for social
justice and inclusion and welcomes persons of all orientations,
identities and expressions in her practice.

Melissa currently serves on the Parent Advisory Committee for
Building Bright Futures.  She supports the Open and Affirming
Committee at her church and is interested in building an inclusive
faith community.  She has also held leadership roles on the
Vermont Addictions’ Professional Association Board and the
Vermont College Alcohol Network.  Prior to joining Azimuth,
Melissa worked for the University of Vermont’s Counseling Center
and has held various clinical positions within the Howard Center
for Human Services.

Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband
and their young daughter.  She also loves a great yoga or boot
camp fitness class, and recently completed her first 12.8 mile
adventure race.
