Carol Fournier, Clinician, Spiritual Director
Carol A. Fournier, a life-long New Englander, holds an MS in
Counseling from the University of Vermont, a Certificate of
Advanced Specialization in Pastoral Ministry and Theology
with a specialization in Spirituality from Saint Michael’s
College, and is a graduate of the Art of Spiritual Guidance
program.
Carol is a Spiritual Director and Licensed Clinical Mental
Health Counselor (www.carolfournier.com). She provides
compassionate integrative care for heart, mind, and spirit for
individuals, couples and groups, engaging classic and
contemporary practices informed by research.

Carol serves as adjunct faculty at several area Colleges as well as Spiritual Life Centers. She is
a community research affiliate with the Programs in Integrative Medicine at UVM College of
Medicine. As an assistant professor at UVM from 1999-2008, she developed nationally
recognized programs in Crisis Management, Differing Abilities and Accommodations, and
Integrative Counseling.
Carol is founder and director of the Silver Dove Institute for Spiritual Care, providing professional
training for spiritual directors, counselors and ministers. In addition to serving on the staff of
Azimuth, she has a private practice in South Burlington.
A member of a vibrant, large French-Canadian family, Carol enjoys playing the Celtic harp,
gardening, exploring beaches, biking and playing with her new kitten Sophia. A budding poet
and artistic photographer, she wrote her first play when she was 8 years old and has been writing
ever since.
